However, of late, it is getting its policies a bit awry and the result is an impending debts running into billions, majority of that is going to be rendered bad debt in coming years.

Abu Dhabi has fast shaped to be a financial giant in recent years, and yet spending planets on buildings like Al Burz and the newly erected Formula One Stadium for little rush of adrenaline is never going to help matters. It remains to be seen whether the pristine picture is hiding something underneath. In recent years Abu Dhabi has been investing heavily in the construction of luxury resorts and hotels in the hope of attracting new tourists and investment. The hotels developed are on par with many of the luxury hotels found in London or other major cities in Europe. It remains to be seen however whether these developments will provide returns in the long term.

However, smart economies are getting to get a bit of the drift and are queuing to take their share and emerge unscathed before the middle-east undergoes crisis. Some of its foreign investments have been downright crazy. Losing billions in fallen bigwigs like AIG and Enron has also not helped.

It is generally counted on an annual basis. Several policies, regulations and reforms are imposed by analyzing the exact position of the deficit.

Each country has some fixed and movable assets to ward them off trouble in problematic days. There are bonds and treasury bills, which might be realized during those times. The governments check out whether they are in a position to balance the deficit through these assets and other operations. Otherwise, their imports go through severe setback.

Finally, there is always the option of applying for a relative loan or mortuary period from developed countries or financial bodies like World Bank. This helps them reduce spending to pay attention to mounting interests. Some economists are of the opinion that fiscal deficit is actually a silver lining in bloated economies. It is because countries may develop their resources beneath a lenient eye.

The Asian, African, European and South American countries have started exploiting their vast natural ad human resources and have a very high economic growth. The other established countries are trying to capitalize on their economic growth by investing in their currencies. Currencies from the developing countries have become popular for trading and to earn better returns. The budding forex market is also liquid.

The most traded emerging forex include Hong Kong Dollar (HKD), Mexican Peso (MXN), South African Rand (ZAR) Singapore Dollar (SGD), Thai Baht (TBH), Polish Zloty (PLN) etc. Though that are less liquid than the G7 currencies yet their liquidity can be traded. If any one is looking for portfolio diversification, then they can allocate some money to the emerging forex trading market. But some countries have a tight regularity control on trading their currencies as in India and china, so it is advisable not to trade in Indian Rupees and Chinese Yuan.

Equities that were considered safe a little time ago has since turned dubious. Commodity is crashing and big players of the currency market are seen running for covers. In the light of this fact, what might be considered a safe investment portfolio? Today, People are grabbing as much treasury bills as they possibly can. The idea is to store liquid money before it gets eroded though wrong investments.

As the US dollars give signs of weakening, a safe investment portfolio can also be storing gold and silver. When currency weakens, the demand of these metals shoot up, it gives a great chance to sell them at a premium on a later day. You can also look to convert it into dollars when dollar begins to carve its success story on a later day.
